Devil's Lake is the largest body of water in the state. There are 3 state parks bordering the lake.

 Devil's Lake is a popular spot for ice fishing in the winter. People have been known to catch 2 lb Yellow Perch here ice fishing. You can ice fish for walleye too.

The lake is located on the central flyway of migrating birds. Duck, geese and more waterfowl populate the lakeshore in the Fall makes for good hunting grounds.

There are 350 miles of trails in the area for cross country skiing and  snowmobiling in winter.  Hiking, biking, boating, water skiing, jet skiing and camping in summer are popular activities.

On the lake there is an 18 hole golf course and a town and country club.

Spirit Lake Casino and Resort offers gaming and fine dining. Play the slots, poker, bingo, blackjack ....

Nearby is Sully's Hill National Game Preserve for big game herds. Find Bison, White-tailed deer, Elk, mink, turkeys, fox and more wildlife plus over 200 species of birds. There are hiking trails, cross country ski trails, a visitors center and a car route (fee).

Roosevelt Park is off hwy. 2. There are picnic areas with grills, a miniature golf course, a playground and more recreational opportunities here.

Ruger Park has a picnic area, hiking trails, playground, swimming pool with water slide, an ice skating rink and more recreational facilities.

Lakewood Recreation Area has a playground, and picnic areas.

The Rotary Club Tennis complex has tennis courts.

Devils Lake has campgrounds, hiking trails and picnic areas. Great for a family outing, weekend getaway or vacation away from it all. The lake is listed among the top 10 lakes for best Walleye fishing in the US.
